Napa Valley Bike Tour
Wow, wow and re-wow! I must admit that I love everything that moves and goes fast: planes, cars, quads, boats, etc. And this was my first bike ride and I had a whole trailer to myself, in which I could move at leisure while contemplating the valley’s landscape.
We were greeted like kings by Kellie at the Yountville branch following our booking directly on the website. The bikes’ guy, Tim, also offered great service and mostly made sure my parents were comfortable on their bikes before letting us go. As it was a bit cold, we were even lent a blanket so that I would be more comfortable in my bike trailer. We were shown the best routes to take on the road map which hangs from the bike (really handy), and we left for our first stop.

My mother had a whole route planned out. First stop: the vineyard Robert Mondavi (read the article on this in Culinary Tourism) where my parents were able to taste several wines. Then we continued to Mumm Napa (read the article) where we followed a guided tour of the site and factory, as well as a wine and cheese tasting. Finally, we returned the bikes which made us cycle about 30 kilometres. I even napped between two trips!
I recommend visiting the area by bike for adults travelling alone, older people, couples or parents with children. First, I really could see the beautiful landscapes that the region has to offer. Secondly, the area’s topography is still quite flat, so it’s very easy to cycle. Thirdly, there are bikes for all kinds of sportsmen (cruiser, mountain bike and electric bike) as well as older children’s racks and trailers such as mine. Finally, my mother was not stressed to take four sips of wine and take her bike. I can’t wait to experience another such adventure!

Message From My Parents
Napa Valley Bike Tours offers a truly exceptional service. It’s a small business that offers a turnkey service. Booking is easy via their website. When we arrived for our reservation, we were expected with the equipment ready and the staff makes sure that everything is up to our expectations before we leave. I recommend this company 100% and would definitely go again.
I advise you to undertake 10 to 20 kilometres bike tours so you can enjoy more vineyards, tastings and visits offered. To travel 30 kilometres, as we did, was a little bit too much, and I would have liked to take more time at each place. Depending on the season, spring and autumn can be very cool. We had to put on our windbreakers, and I would even have worn a hat and gloves if I had had them.
