Grand Canyon
When we speak of American canyons, the first that comes to mind is probably the Grand Canyon. Its proximity to Las Vegas has certainly helped its popularity thanks to the numerous guided day tours offered annually to some 7 million tourists.
For our part, we came from the opposite side of Las Vegas, and I think that is what made our experience more enjoyable. Indeed, by entering the park on the east side rather than by the west entrance where the main viewpoint is located as well as the reception centre, we experienced a certain climax before arriving at the peak: the picture we all know. Along our route of about 40 kilometres, there are many viewpoints with a few parking lots. We stopped at each one in order to have different views of the Canyon and see it transform in front of our eyes.
Once we got to the main site, it took us several minutes to find a parking lot. Be prepared to walk. We made a short stop at the souvenir shop where my mother bought me a sticker for my collection. We wandered around the exhibit for a while and then headed for the main viewpoint, which is surrounded by fences. How difficult it was to be able to take a photo without having one or 22 tourists in the shot! Almost impossible! Finally, we walked around the “hole” on flat and paved paths where nothing is secure.

Message From My Parents
After travelling several kilometres and seeing the wonders of nature along our route, I must say that the Grand Canyon left me craving more. I do not regret at all having made the journey from east to west, because that is what made my experience more positive: the exciting wait to arrive at the viewpoint we all recognize. Around the main site, I really enjoyed the small paved paths that made my stroller trips easier. I highly recommend using the stroller with your young children if you do not want to find them inside the Canyon. After three trips to Las Vegas, I can finally say that I saw the Grand Canyon, but I know very well that I will not go back!
