Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
What I like most when I go to a Fairmont Hotel is without a doubt the welcome and the service. We stayed at Jasper Park Lodge for three nights while my mother was in a convention. As I had my guardian with me, I was able to enjoy the facilities more than my mother had the leisure to do.
In the main lodge there are restaurants, snacks, a bar, meeting rooms, a children’s playroom, shops of all kinds, an art gallery, a gym, a spa and a heated outdoor pool. There are also some rooms in this building, but most of the rooms are in small houses scattered over the site. This may be a good thing for some in terms of privacy or a negative aspect in our case, because we had to go out and walk to gain access to the various facilities. Since I could not yet walk and it was cold, my babysitter and my mother found it uncomfortable to have to dress warmly and take the stroller each time we wanted to do an activity or eat.
The heated pool was my favourite! Although it is outdoors, we still have access to the water from the inside, then once we have passed through a large plastic curtain to keep the heat indoors, we find ourselves outside. The place was calm; we were alone in the pool during all our visits. And what about the view of the Canadian Rockies! It was like bathing in the mountains!
The playroom is really nice with its bright colours and toys. However, if I had been older, maybe I would have been bored, as there seemed to be few games for the older ones.
Another really nice thing is the deer all over the site. We wake up to them grazing in front of our door. We walk, and there they are, by our side. Although they are wild, they do not run away, and we can admire them.

Message From My Parents
Once again, we were charmed by the welcome and the service. As I was in a convention, the baby traveller and his babysitter were able to enjoy room service a few times, and I have nothing bad to say about the service. The food arrived hot, with a reasonable delay and was of good quality. However, a better offer of a la carte food for kids (a little less “junk food“) would be appreciated from such a grand hotel. I understand that their main clientele is not under 5 years old, however! 😉 If you want to walk on the site, bring your stroller, because it’s huge! You can’t walk to downtown Jasper on foot, though; you have to take a car if you need something or want to buy souvenirs in town.
Overall, we loved the welcome, the pool, the choice of restaurants and the site. Small disappointment about the room which was a little too old, but following a corporate visit of the site, I saw that several rooms and cabins were newly renovated (at $ 3000 per night) and that if the money was there, the comfort followed!
